Total ounces of gold and silver sold by The Perth Mint* in April 2012 as coins and minted bars:

Silver (Ag): 207,109.91oz

Gold (Au): 17,575.640oz

Compare with last month.

The rise in gold ounces sold compared to last month reflects a large order for minted gold bars that was returned in March due to a minor packaging issue and was delivered in full during April.

The reduction in silver ounces sold compared to last month reflects a dramatic about turn in the market for silver bullion products.

Judging by the speed the platinum group buy order was filled, I'm inclined to believe those numbers!
 
I wonder what that minor packaging issue was about?

In any case, that's a massive loss of confidence in the silver train.
 
So, ready to call time of death on the Perth Mint Dragon coin variants ?? ...

Get the paddles ... 3000 Joules .... CLEAR .... We're not going to give up on this Dragon just yet !!
 
With the corrected figures, basically a halving of sales from the previous month for both gold and silver.
 
wonder if this means Dragon (all flavours except 1oz of course) mintages will be lower then expected. I was of the persuasion that mintages would be MASSIVE compared to the other s2, but maybe a couple of silver crashes has taken the shine of the key coin in the series???
