Isn't that Dragon the same as the one in the 9 coin coloured BU China set?!?!?! WTF?!? Not even a proof!!! JC Christ they get it WRONG every time don't they...

True enough but with a mintage of only 5000 it doesn't really matter.

I hear ya Roman - but nah - b@ll@x to 'em... I have other swimmy-things to fry & more focussed outfits deserve my business I'm afraid... x

well I had to get one seeing as I have every dragon so far that has been released here...keep him locked up for a year or 2 and see what happens :)

Having said that don't think I like what the Perth Mint are doing here, I completely agree with you.

I think it is with a mintage of "show case" only 5000. Just like their early colored coin with a mintage of 3800.

care to expand on that please? Not aware of what happened with the early coloured coins :/

Any thoughts on the opal?
I think it looks nice...
Proof, Limited Mintage 8,000

Presented in a prestigious display case, a light turns on as you open the case, highlighting the opal design and symbolising moonlight, shining down on the nocturnal koala.

The early colored lunar coins are not proof, mintage of 170,000, but only 3800 coins were packed in a case with COA. For the coins they are same, the only difference is the case.

... and the case (usually) does make a difference (in future value) ... Just look at the 2010 colored tiger (single coin vs with box and COA)

how about Red Welsh Dragon 2012 1oz Silver Proof Coin .. worth a second look ?

Appears to be unavailable.

The Welsh dragon is available from Coin Club now.

Also, the Opal Koala is available from Coin Club and has a 2 coin limit rather than the 1 coin from Perth Mint.

Not only the first in the series, but the first in a DRAGON series. This one should be popular.

Famous last words?
