Perth Mint Funnel-Web Spider silver bullion coin

What is low premium? Seems these are not that low, selling for between $25 and $26 CA for singles here and spot in 20.50 CA ish, thats like $5 premium , I haven't bought any bullion for awhile so i don't know what constitutes a low or high premium.

Well, all I can say that I can get them here in the US for the same price as a Philharmonic or Maple -- both of which I consider to be low-premium coins.

Obviously could get some bars & generic rounds for lower per oz, but have to compare apples to apples..

Bought a maple leaf yesterday it cost me $24.50 CA not much difference in price i will grab a few of these to put away with the crocs i have they are for stacking not collecting

Noah ark, Maple, ASE 2015, Elephant 2015, Philharmonic, ASE 2014, Elephant 2014, Britannia 2015, Canada Birds of prey series, ... all those coins are cheaper than spider here in Eurpe. Not very low premium. It cost as much as Koala or Kookaburra here in Europe. For that money I would go with Kooks, at least I get free capsule.

I received the Funnel-Web Spider coin yesterday. I can say of all the coins I have (and I have a lot), this is my least favorite one.

Anyway, I've bought too much silver lately. Time to get some more gold and maybe a little more platinum.

The hammerhead also

"The finish of the Funnel Web Spider coin is designed to mimic a silk web. The finish, I think, is genius."

Lol who came up with that "excuse" to cover up the poor finish.

If anyone believes this then there truly is a " a sucker born every minute"

Not sure what the vid above was all about? these are bullion grade coins no more no less, the maker of the vid thinks they are a premium coin or was expecting perfect coins.
The more vids like this the better for Aussies to be able to buy a 1 ozer with low premium just like the Americans buyASE,sfor such a low premium.

I was just thinking the same thing! I was bit annoyed how nit picky the guy was.
Yeah there was a small nick on the nose, and I didn't see the muck he was talking about, but this is a bullion coin. This isn't some proof, double struck, super fine coin. I felt he was expecting some MS70 coin.
In the end, he should have kept it the way it was and kept it as silver. He made them take it back and they screwed him over by buffing the coin and it made it look worse. Haha.

Couldn't resist opening a tube today and its very disappointing to find such poorly minted coins.
Looks cheap and nasty and there's already milk spots on them.
A very mediocre effort from the Perth Mint

Crap tubes, crap coins!
Some dealers and stackers are trying to hype up this coin to justify the high premiums.
Design is great; execution is abysmal.
What you will be getting is a coin minted to the standard of a cheap round loaded with a nasty premium
Will be trying to dump them at the Sydneystacker meet this Sunday; no extra charge for the milkspotted ones. :P

I have to agree with you about hype for resale premium purposes unless some coins are far greater quality than others, which I doubt.

I mentioned this in an earlier post when i put up the first pics of this coin, it is i would say on par with a generic buffalo Round or 1oz bar and a true low grade bullion coin.

For speculating flippers who pre ordered many of these FWS,s expecting good resale premiums I believe they will have to "sell hard by word" for that extra premium because I doubt the product will sell itself at a higher premium as many other Perth mint coins have.

Perth mint "Thumbing their nose" at flippers? lol

Maybe they are doing this on purpose. Not enough people buying their top dollar proof type commemorative coins because you can get almost as nice bullion coins now for 1/4 the price. (well not now apparently)

Hmmm make the bullion less desirable and more like bullion and less like premium coins.

Its a conspiracy I tell you !

Selling fast!! DONT MISS OUT!!!! Lol
