Perth Mint Coins In Australia Post

Australia Post stock certain Perth Mint numismatics in their stores, usually in a glass display cabinet.
They also have massive clearances all the time on other stock in the store, like cost price, I score a lot of stuff that way.
Anyone even seen them put the coins on sale?

I have never seen the coins on sale. I am pretty sure they have an agreement with Perth Mint that they can return any unsold coins.

i've seen aust. post have coins on sale it was about $10 less than retail, but if you look at the bottom of the receipt sometimes they have like 10,15 or 20% off (can't remember what %) your next coin purchase only limited time to use

Sounds like a great way to get the odd bargain.

Random question but, is Aus Post government owned? NZ Post occasionally sells silver coins with LoTR or Hobbit designs and charges well over $100 for them, such a shame they don't have the same mindset as their cousins.

LPO's are often happy to off-load their numismatics that don't sell well, it saves them time and money posting them back to the supplier.

Some stock comes from the GPO "Australia Post", some comes from suppliers like Downies!

LPO's often order numismatic stock that they think will turn-over quickly, sometimes their cons don't pay-off.

If you spend a few bucks on numismatics and have established a rapport with your local LPO, you can make good bucks for them and for yourself.
