Perth Mint 20oz Bars

Now that the Perth Mint no longer make these bars, will there be any collectable value in these bars in the future, or will they follow spot price as bars tend to do?

To be honest, I don't see any collector value in them.

Though some people on the forum think otherwise, judging by the asking prices for some of them.

They haven't made them for a good while but they usually do carry a premium, 5-10% from what I've seen.
I like them because they're a nice size between the little girly 10oz and the bit too hefty 50oz.

Me to House.

They have a bit of grunt.

Pity they don't still make them. :(
They are a good size.

+1
I like the 20oz. Would sell 2x10oz before I'd sell the 20oz (and not just because can't buy new ones).

I wouldn't pay a huge premium. I have a couple purely to have them in the collection. My stacking strategy pretty much required 10oz PM bars as the largest size anyway.

They only stopped making them last year.

I'm sure there are too many of them to warrant any kind of good premium.

I'd rather 2x10oz personally.

That's what I was told when I started stacking about a year ago. I know they weren't available in Jan last year. That's a good while ago to a young fella like me :p

Geez look guys ! You can still get them from the Perth Mint , just look.
We're talking about silver 20oz bars ;)

The silver ones are "subject to availability" which means if they buy them back they may put them up for sale. Although considering they buy back and melt down the delicious 1oz bars some people pay hundreds for... good luck.

Bloomst, I'll blame you for that misinformation and making me pay silly premiums for them :P Still, got a nice pile of them and they stack well.

Mark, I'm surprised there's no other 20's available here. I'm sure there's some mints in the US that produce them. 20oz Scottsdale Stackers is what I really want :D

I like the 20oz, feels must more significant than the 10oz. I picked up a couple from PM last time I was there, but they usually don't have any in stock (and you can't buy them from PM online).

I think Ainslie bullion in Brisbane have them last time I looked

Dont see as many as 10 ozers floating around.
Its a nice size and I'm surprised there aren't more types around from other producers. It feels quite substantial in comparison to a 10oz. I would have thought 20oz would be a good intermediate size between 10 oz and kilo bars. It could make a nice stacker.
