That is called bartering.
Not swapping Silver for coffee is called saving.

As starving Uni Students in a share house we once went shares in a 4 kilo tin of Pablo Instant Coffee
(anyone remember Pablo Coffee?...I can't even find a photo of the tin on the web...i think it was yellow with a picture of a cactus wearing a sombrero)
anyway it worked out to something like 20c per cup...but you needed a heaped tablespoon to get any flavour and even then it tasted like mud. We quickly came up with the saying
"Life's too short for Pablo"
enjoy your coffee...don't scrimp.
