FSR: Silver in particular has been of great interest to my family. It looks like $50 silver is going to happen very soon. But Jim, will we see a triple-digit silver price in 2011?

JR: If it does, we'll all have to sell, because then you've got a bubble, a parabolic move and all parabolic moves end badly. I certainly hope it doesn't happen because I own silver and want to buy more. My hope is, silver and gold and all commodities will continue to go up in an orderly way for another ten years or so, and eventually the prices will be very, very high. Yes, we'll have triple-digit silver, but if it happens this year, Jay, I would probably start to think about selling.
 
it's relieving to hear that he is also saying this is not a parabolic yet...It is even better to hear that, if we finish 2011 at about $75-90, he wont be calling it parabolic again and will aim to continue buying...
 
Still if it happens how Bob Chapman describes then it is more of a default and not parabolic either
 
These guys always hedge their bets, have you noticed that...........
 
JR said that if it is $100 by the end of the year, this will have been a 'parabolic' move.

The way it's going, it will be $100 by the end of June!!

If at the end of the year then probably not, but if we keep continue with moves of +1.7 - 2.0 per day then give it month and a bit. Then yeah.

Alright if China is really proposing to cut two third of US hold debt - if thats true, 100 might be just the beginning.
 
borowing some cash of a relitive and will sell and pay back (plus usuary) IF it doubles... Free stack :) they offered to give the money, i am not terribly proud but i am not a begger either

What will the price of gold be if silver gets to $100. If gold is over 2k I will hold. If gold is still at $1500 I will sell.

Yep me too...I'd sell most of my stack anyway. If it did I would make $40K profit....not too shabby for a first investment... cant get too greedy. Although cant make any promises....lets just see how I feel at that point:)
 
Jim Rogers is a very intelligent guy but more importantly his views should be listened to because of the money he has made from his views. Lots of people have views, few can translate those views into creating money making opportunities.

The key message i took from this interview was Jim Rogers view that PM are in a multi-decade bull market. We only only half way through that bull market.

Others can sell, i am holding. Even better hopefully silver does go to $100 quickly and then drops like a stone. This will scare many people out of the market and make it easier for me to slowly increase my holdings over time.

In my opinion people should focus on the long term cycle and not get caught up in all the day to day movements.

The long term cycle is up, and long term cycle (at least from history) last much longer than people expect.

If it hit $100, I could sell 1/3 of my stack which will return my seed money. I can then let the remainder take care of itself.

However, will I have the courage to get out, that's the question?

Maybe start selling a small percentage at a time until seed money is realised then turn back on the market for a few months and visit it again.

It's one thing to say that I shouldn't have sold at a $100 when it's $200 an ounce, but better than saying I should of sold at a $100 now that it's fallen to $30!

This is the cunundrum we will all be facing.
 
Would I sell @ $100?

Maybe some of my holdings.

Depends on what other asset I could get into.

Would be watching the GSR with interest.............

Yes this... I'm more interested in the GSR at the moment than the price of silver
