Yes. I sense the imperious need to complete the tao. (be carefully is very contagious)
And if i pay 13x spot for silver one. Why not pay 2x spot for the golden.

I just received this 2002 Silver Panda. To my naked eye it looks perfect, But then I took some photos and I notice all sorts of things I can not see without the magnification of my camera.
Scuff mark on the Pandas' nose, and little black spots on his white fur. On the Temple side in the upper right there are several small spots.
Is this NGC MS69 coin begining to have what is referred to as "white spots" or is "normal"?
The coin really looks beautiful to the naked eye! Should I forget about the details in the magnified photos, and just enjoy my new Panda, or does my Panda have issues that will get worse with time?

Looks like you have some toning developing towards the edges, but nothing to worry about as it looks natural and not from chemicals rising from within the metal. I'd forget it and be happy that the label says MS69 instead of something lower.
Ok Dave I got my lightbox in so now I just need to see if I can figure out how get the camera set right to get these awesome pics !
I dont know much about cameras but my wifes has two attachable lenses and all kinds of settings that I need to figure it ... we shall see !

Well, I see that you have WIFES, so maybe the one that is familiar with the camera can take the pictures for you. LOL
The light box is designed to provide soft lighting and avoid glare. I simply put the lightbox on a counter near a window that does not have bright sun light, turn the camera on auto and shoot.
I'm looking forward to seeing your photos. Hope your photos don't show you any imperfections like mine just did.

The toning isn't what surprises me.... What does is that this coin would grade MS69 with all of the imperfections present in the main viewing area of the Panda's head and fur. Normally markings like that would immediately knock points off, especially considering how many there are. To me, this is an over-graded coin (no offense to you, Dave; still a nice coin and lovely picture).

Use a small tripod if you have one, set the camera's ISO low (100 or 200) to prevent noise, use a macro lens if you have one, set the lens aperture to 8.0 or higher to make sure your image is sharp corner to corner.
Or keep it easy; shoot in full-auto, hand holding, with plenty of light. Light boxes are fun, you'll be able to experiment a lot.
My son Colton "Tinky" turns 15 months tomorrow so I felt it was a great time to add a few more Chinese coins to his bank box.
I really like this set 1980 Flower Set of proofs three PF68's & one PF66.
These coins from the Shanghai Mint are absolutely stunning and coins this rare I don't really mind at all lower grades and considering they are brass it's difficult to get 30 year old brass coins that grade consistently high.
Checking the NGC Census on these is pointless as this is the only graded set !

I think I'm going to just stick with the "old school" easy way of taking pics for now.
The camera I'm using has a detachable lens so I took it off and put on one that is about 6" long. It worked great for the Saints games to get good shots from far away but seems to photograph coins with it I have to be several feet away. So just put the normal lens back on and shot by hand.
I guess what I really need is the macro lens for the light box.
As for all the settings I do not have a clue. The camera has all these crazy options but I just put it on auto for now. Photography is very cool but I don't know anything about it. I will start reading the camera book though so I can maximize the potential with it.
