PAMP w/o Certificate

Hi,

New to silver stacking and aiming to be able to diversify my investments. My thoughts are that 1 kg bars are a good way to go with the lowest premium I can get.

I've noticed here and on a few dealer sites the sale of PAMP 1 kg without a certificate.

How important are the certificates?

Hi and welcome.
Certs with PAMP bars aren't important it's just piece of paper. I wouldn't hesitate in buying a PAMP bar without a cert.
Silver is silver just like 99% of the other silver without certs.
Always test your silver even from dealers.

I agree with the above too, not too much difference, but. If you had 2 identical bars for sale on ebay and they were both in the same condition, the one with the certificate would most likely sell first. A new stacker might think he would be getting the better product because it's certified but in fact it is just a piece of paper.

if there is high premium for a Pamp kilo bar in your area, then it is not worth to diversify into that premium

I would not pay any more for one with a certificate.

I paid for a shiny pamp kilo with cert for $650 last November. To be honest, even though a bar, it looked smoother than some of the QB coins that I’ve seen. I’ve zipped locked it with silica gel and anti tarnish paper and had to store the certificate separately, which is rather a hassle.

Pamp bars are much overpriced, better take Asahi (former JM) or Silvertowne. See the comparison for 1 kg silver bars there and choose the best one for you
