So in the downswing I bought a couple hundred Perth lunar 1/2 horses at 12.46 just before they sold out at provident. Then I got stupid and bought 20 colored ones on ebay to match because I didnt like the look of the uncolored ones vs colored in pictures.
The ebay ones arrive over 10 days quicker shipping from around the world- Wrong coins. They sent me uncolored ones, we are in process of him refunding some $$$ and Ill be happy. Today the 200 coins arrive. They arent 200, only 1 box in there and the perth label says 100??? Maybe they removed the plastic thingy and then put a blue strap on it? I open the strap and its only 100 coins- colored???
Kinda crazy that I ordered 2 different styles of lunars from 2 different sellers and they both got screwed up in reverse huh? Provident better not give me a hard time on the shorting me 100 coins thing, You couldnt even stuff 2 boxes in the packaging they sent.

Btw- the colored ones are ugly. In pictures they highlight the details, in real life they hide the details and make the coin look flat.

^ I'd contact them first.
They could have sent 2 parcels, because the boxes are quite large.

I hope you got tracking details. and goodluck!!

I called immediately and didnt like the response- take pictures? Im short 1250 in metal, how can me taking a picture of boxes prove that? The boxes are intact so what I want is a label to send it back. im gonna have to take video of it with a notary present and all that jazz now.

Please keep us updated, I hope Provident deals with this properly.

The coins fit tight, they are in a box within a box, within a box, and about 2 inches to spare on 1 side. I dont even like having them in my house, I want them gone and my order fulfilled. But they dont even have any 1/2 horses listed so Im seeing problems in my future.

Your best proof of the shortage is package weight. A few years ago, Tulving shorted me 500 ASEs on an 800 ASE order. Hans wouldn't consider that they made an error and told me to file a police report. When the weight of the shipment was brought to his attention, he sent the missing monster box of ASEs. Glad that asshat is out of business.

Provident never compensated me for damaged shipments and wouldn't take the damaged bars back, but in your case they will have to do something. They should have video evidence of the shipment preparation. If you don't get satisfaction from Provident, file a complaint with the Texas Attorney General's office. Every state's AG office has a consumer protection division, but I think Provident will at least refund your money.

The colored coins looking flatter because they are flatter. GP or someone else explained years ago that colored coins have a different surface. IE., if remove the color from a coin, the base coin will not have the detail of a bu version.

The package doesnt have a weight on the label, its a standard rate for the size. But the fact is 2 perth boxes could never fit, Im expecting a return label tomorrow.

Ok now more funny business- The first mishap was silver ounces in place of colored. I didnt open the wrap, until the shipper confirmed his error and said hed fix it in 2 days-Sunday/today I opened it to see the horse, Now His fix is to send me 2 rolls, but im already in limbo with provident and not in the mood to buy an extra roll at 3 weeks ago price, and now that I see the colored from the other source they are ugly. He wants to charge me 70 more than he sold the same uncolored ones for a few days prior to me buying colored ones. Im going to make him pay 90 euro in shipping or get negative ebay feedback.

Now im understanding why to buy from trusted sellers.

they are now telling me that the uncolored are worth more and are not refunding until I pay shiping across the world. thats what you get from ebay.

Yeah, I tend to stay away from eBay unless it's a trusted seller.
If you have proof that you received the wrong item/undescribed item, even if he admitted it in his eBay messages, open a eBay claim.

OH yeah, he alrady admitted the error, then committed to a resolution via ebay. But I have Zero faith- I bought a like new used once generator off ebay, it was beat to heck and didnt even run? Ebay/paypal told me to have a mechanic confirm. I couldnt find a mechaninc who would write down on paper that it wasnt starting- they wanted me to pay 50 bucks to clean the carbs or buy a new one.

Odd, I (and my dad) been using eBay for about 8 years now, won every case we've opened. If he admitted it, post it in the message and tell them that return shipping would be outrageous.

For car parts that is. Not sure how they handle silver, but I'm sure they know how many fakes there are.

The second half of my provident order came, they only provided one tracking number and didnt say anything about a 2nd package when I called them. It looks like more painted horses from the perth label. I wonder if thats all they had left so sent it out?

My issue with the generator was also that I mentioned contacting my credit card company- ebay was hands off at that point even though I just mentioned it. It was my cc company that requested something written from a mechanic. its a honda and does work after carb cleaning but it wasnt as advertised. The sellers excuse was she was letting her dad use her account and he lied.

It's her responsibility to keep the account safe.

I got a refund from the ebay seller. Wound up with 1 oz horses at 29.50 shipped which is an ok deal. I had to stick to my guns though, he was saying the uncolored were worth more than the colored. -but i didnt order uncolored, and I saw the 33 euro he paid for it to be shipped from Belgium.
The coins themselves seem to have large halos around the Queen, I can see its how the metal flows during striking but are all silver lunars like that?
