Old Spanish gold coins

Hey Joe

I had a quick look and to me you have bought what we call Bullion coins. They do have some history but the condition is not good enough to be of any Numismatic (Collector) value. The pics are not real good for detail (edit- Just worked out the zoom). If you can get some dates we could find some more detail for you.

They look to be fractional coinage as well. So you need to calculate the purity, weight this allows you to know the gold value of each one.

What photo software do you use ?

Is this pretty close, best I could do with the images I had.

Thanks for the reply. If in today's market 22K gold is worth $45 a gram for say .916 purity, then a coin that weighs 15 grams would worth at least $675 plus historic value, no?

Yes Joe, no matter the coin, you can always get scrap value for your gold which is about $45 an ounce at the moment. The "collector" value is then much more difficult to determine. Rarity, condition etc come into play but at least you know the scrap value is a minimum coin value.

I would like to buy all of your gold right now! I'll even pay $50 an ounce!
:P
