Hello forum, can you help me. I have some old $5, $2, and $1 bank bills in a circulated state. It was stashed by me years ago thinking maybe one day it might be worth something.

My question is, are they worth more than face value? Or should I just go to the bank and deposit them as regular money. Thanks for any tips.

There's a few versions of each so years and pics of the notes would significantly help your query ;)

I'd assume they're all worth more than face value and wouldn't hand them over to the bank. Did you check eBay for prices for notes in similar condition to yours?
 
We have collectors in our coin club who regularly pay their dues in paper money.

It is all down to condition and signature pairings!.

Knowing the signatures would go a long way to working out if they are worth anything.
 
Yes, normally these paper monies can be converted to new ones in local banks... they will honor them as face values..
 
Would there be a premium if they were new in bundles of 100 straight from the bank/mint?
 
Hi, I can provide more info and along with some photos. The condition of all the notes are used, 1 with some 40 year sticky tape on it. So it's all used. At one stage 2 years ago I had another small lot of old notes and a collector told me it was of no value to him. He said, just take it to the bank as I will only give you face value and I don't really want it, so I did just that.

So here are the photos. The top left $5 note is a Commonwealth of Australia note, all the others are just marked Australia. Face value of the lot is $90. So what should I do, sell it here maybe or take it to the bank. Thanks Everyone.

ok, as to conditions.. they're very much circulated... hope we agree on this part... Commonwealth of Australia $5 note may fetch you $7.50-$10.... the notes are depended on those signatories at the time of printing... Stones and Frasers are common signatories as well as Stevensons :)

But If I were you, and only $90 face value, just keep them for your kids (or grandkids) cause these won't break your piggy bank if you're holding them, right?

Hello, I have just down sized and I am selling all my collectibles. I have no children and I am getting older and older. I have decided to sell these bank notes as that one $5 Commonwealth of Australia note might be worth a bit.
