I now spend way way too much time looking for silver to buy!

I am still a new small time stacker but I am already scared I will miss a bargain in the trade section and am constantly bouncing between SS, bullion dealers and ebay.

I fear there will be no end to this madness! :D :D :D

Just take a step back. Take a deep breadth. Reconsider your situation. Then keep buying.

lol ,well it would be funny but I am still here to answer on a Saturday night!Ahhhhh

its so easy to get addicted to silver when you first find out how cheap it is after buying or seeing jewellry thats not pure thats so expensive then you see how much 999 silver you can buy its amazing ...then one day you wake up & you have a shitload of the stuff ....

You got 'obsessed' at a better time than some others including me. How cheap is 2015 silver after 2011 silver, same answer as the jewelry question.

Though, in 1981 a same difference, $8 after $16, yet in 1992 it saw $4, being another halving after that decade, and despite the evaded 4-fold-based loss, still a 2-fold based one. A doubled price is half so cheap as a quadrupled price, but still double so expensive (and half the ounces).

How much have premiums on collectable silver changed since silvers highs to now? When silver was building its rocket ship in 2011 did the premiums do the "lunar module developers need extra funding" thing?

Just wait until you start getting a little gold... it is like a drug. You tell yourself you just want one little 1/10 oz coin to check it out. Next thing you know you're on ebay trying to find Mexican pesos below spot like it was your day job. If you watched the Hobbit movies and saw what happened to the dwarves when they got to the mountain that pretty much sums it up. I've almost finished my 1st 100 ounces in silver coins. I've slowed down a bit here recently to focus on other assets. I want to add another 1/2 oz in small fraction gold coin and then I think I will focus my next 100 oz of silver in 10 oz bars. I'm not an addict... I could quit whenever I wanted.

Don't worry it should only last about 3 years then you will get over it

I started stacking gold first with a one ounce gold coin. Second week in I realized silver is the better PM for returns in likely future economic collapse. So now I only stack silver and this week have just past 500 ounces in my first year. :) I have no regrets switching especially when I consider how many ounces I would have now if it was all gold - not many. I'm addicted to silver too! :)

I don't know, at the time I only bought regular bullion and only after the may 2011 mass sale, Lunar kilocoins, whose current year is sold at the same silverbased price as regular bullion.
Over my "silver active period" I've read a number of times posts of people that complained about premiums rising with dropping price, but from what I've seen myself, those risings were temporary, once the price stabilized around the new lower level, the premiums dropped again, to a same %.
I remember that in 2011, after the may mass sell off, around $33, that Apmex had spot +$3.5 for maples. Now, at $17.5, it's spot +$2. The spot price is now 53% of then, and the premium is 57% of then. That doesn't appear to me as a big difference. Probably the same applies to Lunars (all this only applicable on current year ofcourse).

Nothing wrong with this at all.
If all this time results in getting cheap silver then you are making money for the future.
Keep going and do not let it bother you.
About a year after i started stacking silver and gold rather than just my coin the missus got up me about it.
She told me that she did not understand why i was putting so much time and money into it all.
Well after a discussion i told her i would knock it on the head and sold plenty of stuff to show her how we were pretty much saving CASH.
Well it was enough to make her see the light and get onboard with the stacking, it was also enough to knock the wind out of me and lose interest.
For a while there i was accumulating sweet FA and yet we still had little extra cash in hand.
so keep going while the iron is hot:)

I Just passed my first 100oz,s of silver a few weeks ago and have been buying a 1/10th a month for a few months now but not sure I would buy gold from ebay unless it was a reputable bullion dealer.

I know how you feel. I did the same thing when I started buying silver. I spent a ridiculous amount of time watching the sales threads... Before I knew it I had hundreds of ounces of silver stacked and several of gold as well... It kind of rattled me so I took a step back, spent some time rebalancing my assets with several acres of nice remote bushland... and now I am back again. Just can't seem to stay away!

Word of advice - set some goals while you are in the beginning phase like you are now. If you already have - great, just work to balance it.

If not then start with a number of ounces for the next 5 years or a percentage of net worth. No one knows where the prices are headed and if they stay depressed for the next few years, you need to be comfortable with that as the capital used for stacking could have been deployed elsewhere.

Remember a stack pays no income, it's only worth as much as the next person is willing to pay for it.
