Offshore PM Acqusition/ storage

Not sure if its been broached previously but has anyone considered moving % of your PM's offshore to an unallocated storage facility (i.e. NOT A BANK)? Having dual euro/au citizenship I am considering opening a box/locker in a northern european country. Will be holidaying there next year so may move some then, as well as setting it all up.

Because if shit really hits the fan I may be concerned that people will go looting places like that and or the owners themselves just grab it all and run. I mean you have to consider all possibilities.

I wouldnt let any of my family know I own PM's, my wife is the sole benefactor of it if we both die together the metals would be left in the vaults and hideholes

Anthony the theory is if you keep a portion offshore it spreads the risk slightly, say if Australia bans or restricts gold buying ?

I think if it gets banned in Australia then most of western europe/us will have it banned also. I think asia or south america would be a better option if you wanted to split your stack up.

Understand, however I have a lot more faith and knowledge in Australia than anywhere else in the world.

If something happens where i hold my metals closeby then I can react straight away. Having said that, I don't subscribe to the SHTF scenario.

Unless you have intimate knowledge of a market, maybe you have a lot of family or contacts in another country, then holding offshore I believe is increasing your risk.

It may bit a stupid but is that not a massive effort to hide PM. You need to fly all the way around the world to get your bars. IF SHTF would you not want your PMs "close" so you can use them to trade or sell etc.

I can't of many situations where I'd rather be in Europe than Australia, war is the only one I can think off but Europe is usually the epicentre for those types of things.

Also if you are opening a vault in Europe to store some PM's, dare I ask how much you would be taking with you? I mean, who'd want to hope on a plane with $50k in metals or more? Anything less in value seems like a bit of a hassle.

Why store some of your wealth offshore?

Because maybe Australia is not the best place on Earth like we've been led to believe and brainwashed form a young age and those heads in the image hiho uploaded will screw anyone who stands in their way.

And it won't be good sex either, nor consensual.

I wouldnt be raising it if I was taking an oz of gold bro, the idea is take 1/2 my gold stash on my next trip, declare it so theres no issues then open up a storage account when there, park up the metal and all kosher. Its only money after all, but I would sooner be banking gold in europe than buying euros
