We ordered 11kg's of silver in 1kg bars earlier in the week and it arrived on Thursday. Hope you get yours soon :D It was the 1st order we had ever placed and decided to go with the Perth Mint, pretty exciting when it arrived at our door!

also any increase in fiat price will have a significant portion duly stolen by the taxman

Thanks for the welcome, freight is a standard $17.50/kg and insurance is 1%. We considered purchasing in person from Ainslie or having them deliver which would have been way less on the insurance and freight side of things but they didn't have any in stock anyway. Even with the insurance and freight it worked out ever so slightly more cost effective to get it from the Perth Mint.

Newbie here,2nd post...my question is...is there any restriction/hassle if I fly to perth and travel back with silver bars (10oz)...ala airport security/screening machines...cheers

I flew from Perth to Melbourne the other day carrying about 70oz of silver bars and coins and a couple 1oz gold bars and they didn't bat an eyelid. I just kept it in my backpack in an easily accessible box just in case they had asked to see it.

Flown to Perth with 8kg of silver in carry-on(!), just ask for private screening, as every time I've flown with silver bullion security has wanted to inspect it closer because you can't x-ray it. Just ask "Can I have a private screening please" when you're asked what's in your bag, so you're not flashing it around in public. They just take you to a private room, I think also volunteering for the private screening is a green flag that everything's ok with what you're carrying.
