However, taxpayers will pay $37 million for research, development and public awareness of the upgrade of all denominations over the next 12 years.

The current $10 bank note will be upgraded with new security features in about a year.

I wonder if RBA put it to a vote, keep the old one or the this one going forward what people would have preferred.

Just received a (new) $5 note, it's plastic, serial number on one side, two dimples , windows holograms everywhere and loads of security features, it's got a diagram which is doing my head in, anyway brilliantly crafted - Man it's amassing shame it's got nothing backing it.
