Neodymium Rare Earth Magnet

What size are they? Plenty of sellers on eBay and they're very cheap
 
The're quite useless really, the're too strong for any practical use and too small to handle.

I stuck 'em on a small plank of wood and stuck a pole on it to make like a mop.
the idea was to sweep it over the floor of my workshop to pick up all the screws, well it picked 'em up alright,
but getting the screws off the magnets was a nightmare, so yeah, no real use for most, you can buy an easily handled neo' magnet on ebay for a dollar.

What about the hard drive boards? what do you do with them?

The magnets I have been using to test silver but they are a pain to get other metals off of. For the hard drive boards that contain a decent amount of gold for something so small. Its best to either extract the gold content from them or sell them in a large amount online.

I take all boards from a computer, even the hard drive shell (aluminum) is worth a fair amount.

The magnets? no I have not, they have a nice listing price but I was unsure on how fast they sell.

For the boards and such that have gold plated components? I just stock pile the boards for now and will extract and refine the gold later. You gotta have a lot piled up to make it worth your wild since the costs of the chemicals + your time is a bit.

I save those to along with hard drive shells etc. Heatsinks = aluminum etc.

90% of the computer is saveable, plastic isnt worth your time.

In most areas there are places you can buy bulk scrap computers where they just sell you dead computers usually for $2.00-$5.00+ each.
A lot of the times its worth it but you have to be careful since a lot have little gold content (newer pcs).

Easy fix. Put the magnet in a plastic bag, or bottle. Glass works too. To release the metal, remove the magnet.

I put the magnet in a takeaway containter, more rigid. I also wrapped a bit of duct tape around the magnet with a tag to make it easier to pick up. Then I gave up and bought a $7 magnetic pick up tool.
