Can you make sense of what is happening? What causes the wild swings with crypto currency?
 
I think it's catching on in the financial sector what's about to happen with crypto currency, and they want in.

For example in 2017 ETH is used by crypto traders to make transactions.

In 2018 we will start seeing a large number of new applications utilising the blockchain platform that is fuelled by ETH. Pretty much a win win scenario if you can hold ETH throughout 2018.
 
They signed an agreement with wechat, Chinese version of facebook, from what I been reading the Chinese can buy it to send gifts 'red envelopes' to friends and family
 
Honestly i'ts roulette. Many of the top coins pump at the same time but a select few get the glory. People see the big green % developing and start FOMO buying. Bitcoin calmed down, even a fraction of that money pushed into alts raises them substantially. NEM is just the winner of today. I will gladly take second place with that litecoin pump though
