Music thread removed

I've had to remove the music thread where members were posting YouTube videos of songs. Apparently hosting screenshots of videos from YouTube (which is a Google website), violates their terms of use for Google Adsense which the forum relies heavily upon. Go figure.

Google ads may not be placed on pages with adult or any kinds of non family-safe content. This includes, but is not limited to, pages with images or videos containing:

* Strategically covered nudity
* Sheer or see-through clothing
* Lewd or provocative poses
* Close-ups of breasts, buttocks, or crotches

Due to some ill-advised postings by other members in the past, the forum has received several of these warnings, and they cannot be ignored. With 200 pages and hundreds of hours of videos to wade through to try and identify which videos were causing the Google Adsense censors to have issues, unfortunately the only pragmatic course of action was to remove the entire thread.

Is this going to cause a problem with pics of Libertads or other coins like some SBSS rounds?

Ok, I realize American Puritanism can be a bit nonsensical, but "strategically covered nudity"? ... Isn't that what we call clothing? And I just realized I go out in public naked with only some clothing to cover my nudity. :o

How does that hold with the other YouTube clips? What content ,in clear terms, do we need to self censor for you ( or report?)

I went looking for some info on innapropriate content for the Google ad network, and found this from Google (you'd have to view it from the perspective of what an American would consider offensive, or what some would feel motivated to report to google):

Offensive or inappropriate content

Our policy

We value diversity and respect for others, and we strive to avoid offending users with ads or websites that are inappropriate for our ad network.

For this reason, we don't allow the promotion of any of the following:

* hatred; violence; harassment; racism; sexual, religious, or political intolerance, or organizations with such views
* content that's likely to shock or disgust
* content that's exploitative or appears to unfairly capitalize at the expense of others

Examples

[snip]

Consequences

What happens if you violate our policies:

Domain disabling: We may suspend websites that violate this policy, meaning that the website can no longer be advertised until the problem is fixed.

Account suspension: An account may get suspended if you have several violations or a serious violation. If this happens, all ads in the suspended account will stop running, and we may no longer accept advertising from you. Any related accounts may also get permanently suspended and your new accounts may get automatically suspended at setup.

Seriously

Good Luck???

If everyone contributing a bit, I guess there will be a lesser work for the admin to do the work.
We are here to enjoying the forum. All we need is to report if we find the materials is unsuitable.
How hard is that???

Now the music thread is gone, just because of minor issue....

What benefits us if the whole forum has been shutting down???

;)

Just learn to conform. Consider it practice for the evolving global corporate police state.

Yeah, gearing up for a financial hit.
They just want a piece of the action, like any mafia I guess.
Too bad GP has a negative concern.

My point was mainly that the forum has a lot of political topics, and people bashing political parties they don't like, which could be seen as political intolerance - and this will never end (for the record I don't think it should end, or that there is anything wrong with being intolerant to the liberal party)

Any other idiots want to post the same sort of material that just led to alor getting a week long ban?

Yes. I too was only looking at that stuff for the purposes of research too!
I only went searching for it so that I wouldn't accidentally stumble on it.
:P

Give us a chance GP...we will do what you want.

Amazing considering YT has been profiting from my label's copyrights for over a decade now, to the tune of at least US$2.5M since 2004 if you base plays on iTunes rates to purchase.

Every time we send 'em a legal notice they say that they have no control over users' posts - so who gets paid for the advertising put in front of our bootlegged tunes uploaded without our consent I wonder.... ?

Double standard ba5tards.

You can thank them for the demise of the independent music sector then - and Taylor Swift.
