here are my S1 and S2 coins that I have so far. I picked up the S1 horse for $35 the other day :) The 1/2 oz mouse is being shipped here, and the 1/2 Ox im still looking for :(

That's okay, there's a bit of a time difference between Oz and Florida.

Every coin is different, I'll put the coin down and look at it until I see the light pattern that I want and then move the lights and adjust the angle until I get it. Used to take me a while and a bunch of exposures but now it only takes me a couple of minutes per coin to get what I want. Notice that the lights can be clipped anywhere around the homemade PVC tube framework. + I use a lot of backgrounds.

Pictures can be done outside of a soft box if you're persistent. Below is a Krugerrand that I shot against a fence under sun light.

Some nice pics there guys.. I used to have similar problems capturing defects photographically on Chrome plate components to send to suppliers in my job, ended up with various 'Lightbox' shaped contraptions on my desk at work, funnily enough no one ever asked what the buggery I was up to!! As always the 'Devil is in the Detail'!!

The coins are stunning too, thanks for taking the time/effort to share such nice pics!!

I must agree a mascot or other identifying mark/icon is very handy when posting pics, don't forget if you email the pictures to yourselves you then have proof of ownership of the pics and can sue any son of a gun that steals the pics for profit! Even the British sovereign dealers copyright their images for the same reasons mentioned in previous posts!
