I have doing research on the dreaded milk spots from what I understand they are most likely to form on coins with a large smooth reflective surface like maples or silver dollars
What I have yet to find is milk spots on coins and rounds that have a textured surface for example the Canadian Cougar (and no not a woman in her 30's or 40's) it is possible that even textured surface coins still have milk spots but because the surface is broken up they are camouflaged to the extent that we just can't see them
I have yet to see milk spots on bars is this because the minting possess is different? Many bars have smooth reflective surface yet they are not disfigured buy the silver milk

I don't have many US or UK silver bars so I haven't seen any milky spots happened on them. However, I did experienced the milky spots on Maples (& US coins) and it made the queen looks like creamy Grandma. CA and US coins milky spots were developed much quicker than PM's and covered bigger area.

The positive thing is :when you see silver coins covered with milky spots, you don't need to check them. It's the COA!!!!:D:D:D:D:D

I have a few Cougars and you can easily see the milk spots. The rest of the series also suffer from the dreaded silver disease of Chlamylkia.

My 500gr Fortuna silver bar has milk spots but it does have a high polish finish, bars in general don't get it because the process is different (no stamping lubed planchets).

So if your going to get the milk it's going to happen regardless of the surface texture ok that answers that
I figured there would be a different process for bars
