Is movement in silver usually that volatile? On the AUD Silver chart there is a drop from ~29.76 to ~29.48, then straight up to 29.89 and now dropping again within 30 minutes.

I am new to Silver and very interested for an alternative to holding excess depreciating cash.
 
Something is going on right now. What a smack-down and then smack-up with gold particularly violent too with both metals making gains on the upside. :|
 
Seeing the same thing, I just found the settings page and have my charts set at silver/AUD on left and gold/AUD on the right. Not a pretty sight for a newbie.
