A brief answers to your question... I think the price is pretty much "on the bottom" at the moment and the chance of it dropping much lower from here might be less then 10%.

If it does drop it will probably only be very brief - and it might only be a dollar or so. There were technical reasons for last night's drop and those reasons are now out of the way.

The prices you mentioned above are excellent. I would grab every bar in the shop! If you don't want them, just post the phone number of the shop here and the others here on the forum will snap them up in about 15 seconds - if they manage to beat me!

Take a look on BullionBourse.com to compare prices for bars.

Also, just think about getting some coins too - like Silver Eagles if you don't have any coins yet. Bars are 'cheaper' silver, but some smaller coins make it easier to sell smaller bits of silver if that need ever arises in the future. Just a thought.

But I would work fast. Silver is not going to hang around at these cheap prices for ever. You are making some excellent purchases at these prices. Well done,

Turk

Turk winning :D

Last night of trading NY before Thanksgiving Holiday..Silver seems to slump during Asian and Europe market trading..

Tonight should be interesting.

My tip,, $33US by morning.

Will turn into a pirate at the stroke of midnight.

First off, congratulations to Robert.S from Sunshine Coast who received his first shipment of physical today.
We all know how that feels! Well done Robert!

And congratulations on most recent purchases too xenith69.

By the way, 733.2oz is quite OK, but really - it's such an odd number... probably high time to round it up to an even 800oz!
(Then again, 800oz is only 7 kilos short of a nice round 1,000oz, so...)

Thursday Night Recap...

Another interesting week. As someone said recently "You know Europe is messed up when you have a German Pope and an Italian Central Banker.'

Well, as many here probably know, Germany failed to receive bids for one third of her 10 yr bonds yesterday, according to Bloomberg.

German Auction 'Disaster' Stirs Crisis Contagion Concern; Bonds, Euro Fall
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-...r-35-of-10-year-bunds-offered-at-auction.html

I must confess, Bloomberg News is a delight to read; they actually go to the trouble of ensuring that all the major elite themes and buzz words are emphasized by "highlighting" the key phrases as a "quote" from somebody important. It must take them ages to get it so neatly stitched up. This means you only have to read the little bits in quotes to know exactly what the message-of-the-day is.

It's so convenient - like elite theme junk food. Here's a sample of quotes from the above article:

"This auction is nothing short of a disaster for Germany,"

"This auction result makes it all too clear that German bonds are not immune from the crisis but are being drawn into the debt swamp,"

"If the strongest nation in Europe has this kind of difficulty raising capital, one shudders concerning the upcoming auctions in other European nations."

"The notion some people had that Germany could be insulated against market developments was a pipe dream,"

"It may now be that Germany is seen at risk either from a general flight out of euro-assets, or from extreme burden-carrying."

"If this doesn't wake up the country to the current risks then I'll be very surprised."

"If investors do not wish to buy bunds, they do not wish to buy Europe,"

Let's hope Germany is paying attention to all this! It sounds quite grim. Talk about peer group pressure.

The current 'We will scare you' campaign is being waged with a mathematical precision that frankly does credit to the elite. (Sorry VRS!) They're even starting to show off now! It's quite easy for these guys to move any market numbers up or down on a whim. Would you like to see the DOW leap 3% overnight, Sir? Easy! Need a month of currency volatility? Consider it done! Care to see gold and silver go the moon?

Don't we all!

Take a look at Spain's recent bond yields for example. As you may have heard, when the yields hit 7% it's generally considered a good time to speed dial the IMF. Last week the Spanish bond rates leapt skyward and stopped at (gasp!) exactly 6.95%. Phew! (loosen collar). Not even the Gillette Fusion shaves that close!

(No doubt Bloomberg News carefully reported this event with: 'Yields on Spanish 10-year bonds reached "6.95%" overnight')

The Black Swan Day for Turkeys...

Thanksgiving Day is coming up in the USA tomorrow, and while the trading mice are away the JPMoggie will probably paw the silver price like he did last year. The red line below is the 'dead' silver price on the Thursday Thanksgiving holiday (which spooked quite a few of the crew here who thought that silver had died on the table and ran for the defib paddles), and the green line is Friday when trading volume was very light because lots of good folk were taking the day off. Might pay to get ready for some Friday night unpleasantness when the real turkeys head back to work.

But before we become too despondent about that I'm delighted to report that a VERY bullish sign for silver has emerged right here in the Silver Stackers Forum!

Yippe-Ki-Ya doesn't think that silver will get to $50.

In fact a number of similar (witty) threads have cropped up recently:

Anyone bored of silver?
Silver getting you down?
What the heck is going on
Is It Stupid Being All In?
I've had enough!!

Generally one of the most bullish signs in any market is when sentiment and price are both at a low point. This means the sellers have already sold up and gone away so the price can't drop much further. So only strong hands and newcomers are left so the price can only stabilize or move higher. Yes, it's been a tough six months of price attacks, (and yes, Yippe-Ki-Ya was misquoted above :) ) but when the permabulls start to feel frazzled and disappointed look out for a big price surp-rise. One that will eventually make people look back fondly at those amazing days when silver was so cheap at $50!

Where to Now?

Well, the pressure is relentlessly mounting on Germany to fire up the press and print. Of course they eventually will even if they decide to give the cash to the IMF so that THEY can do the bailing out of the Euro countries which neatly sidesteps the provisions of the famous Article 123 of the EU Treaty. It's funny how these things work out. You would almost think someone planned it that way...

Here's the past 6 months in a nutshell. Not long now before we will have to break through the 50 DMA line and get some help from the big boys. Notice how the price ran away from the 50DMA line over the past week, then was yanked away when the two looked like they might be able to coexist. They can only do this for a short time more.

Finally, in the absence of our dear comrade Hotel 46, and as a tribute to him, and to Yippe-Ki-Ya and stackers everywhere who have suffered though the past 180 days of silver storms, here's a message from Gerry & the Stackmakers.
http://www.metacafe.com/watch/554861/youll_never_walk_alone/

When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark

At the end of the storm
Is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of the lark

Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown

Walk on walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone
