The Libertad design is impressive. Bigger coin radius, bullion yet comes with a finish, design a coin-spanning statue symbol of freedom, as a winged angel, on a background with mountains, alike it's high in the sky, detailed and narrow/fine.
Whoever made that design, and decided the dimensions, he/they did one of the best designs jobs ever done on this kind of products.
It's a coin, with an 'impact' that isnt second by any other now and past. I have a few 1 ouncer version of the old design of the Libertad (1990), and these are 'much less' than the new design. Still okay, comparable to ASE/Maples/etc, but far off the new one.
And the second is probably also by Casa Moneda de Mexico, that Aztec calendar. But its hefty price tag made it no option for me (although I paid 940 euro in 2011 for libertad kilos so I could maybe buy a few Aztecs today at that price)
The Libertad kilocoin is, especially at it common bullion-alike price, a LOT.
I've read somewhere that they will start providing tubes for their 1 ouncers. The lack of those was the only minus there was to find, even after a hard search for minuses.
On the other hand, the silverish packaging gave the coins a special look. Abit like in the old days, where silver coins passed the scene every day, directly visible and metallic, unlike those neo plastic / gimmick tubes.
So far todays Hail and Praise of the Libertad
