I know it is a bit too early, any thought whether a good long-term buy?

Our private health insurance premium was increased by approx 7% recently (not Medibank Private though) and I can see the premium will keep going up.

often these assets are reasonable short/medium term buy, because the government may just price them a little lower than other buyers.
Better to have 000's of [del] voters [/del] "shareholders" in the black than in the red.. mmm..

Health Insurance providers Like the banks... its nice to be a shareholder... less so a customer.

Medibank has provided upto $500m in dividends to the Govt. In good years... The thought of taking some of that off them is very attractive to me.

Nothing like spiteful bucks :)

My health insurance went up 8.X%.

We have insurance stocks in our SMSF, another to choose from and profit from can only be good.

Government has no business running companies like health insurance.

I'm still a bit of a rookie in the share game, but I'll be looking to go short on Medibank. Think there'll be a big spike shortly after release before leveling out once the initial excitement goes down.

All depends on financial health around the world when IPO will go to the market--however going long

Not sure whether a good option to short this.
The old QRN got a strong support from gov, and I think this one too.
I will like to dip my toes this subject to their initial SP.
Since I cant win with health insurance policy, well I may join the crowd as a mom-and-dad investor :D

Received an email broadcast from the MD of Medibank informing customers of the decision to sell.

Wondering if the IPO will be overpriced? :/
