Just looking at a snap shot of the Asian market ( & AUS ) that have been trading for a few hrs & all of the markets are in the RED. With 2 over 1% down

Crypto's are also in the RED. With some down 5 - 6%. Bitcoin down over $3,500 +

Is something spooking markets with all that RED ?

A look this morning ( am AUS ) & it seems that the USA, overnight, snapped everything back into the GREEN. Ahh, the Big Beautiful Economy.

Headline from MarketWatch:-

" Nvidia has $57 billion in cash. Wall Street has ideas about what to do with it.
The chip maker announced a $60 billion stock buyback this week — and sparked a debate about whether the move makes sense ".

To me, that Nvidia is spending $60 Billion in a " stock buyback " is a Major Red Flag. I would think if Nvidia wants to remain the top AI chip/technology producer, $60 Billion would be better spent on R & D that puffing up the share price with a massive share buyback.

" China's Alibaba develops new AI chip to help fill Nvidia void, WSJ reports
By Reuters
August 29, 2025 ".

China's AI focus is encouraging it's companies to spend on R & D to develop alternatives to Nvidia. China already has an advantage in shear scale & that it's power grid is relatively new & still developing ( AI/Data Centers a proving to be extremely power hungry. A ChatGPT inquiry uses 10 X more power than an equivalent Google inquiry ). The USA's power grid is old & suffering capacity constraints even as some new capacity is added.

That Nvidia thinks it's a good time to spend $60 Billion on a share buyback seems to go against the current flow of spending on AI R & D/product development/implementation. Share buybacks only boost those that currently hold shares & is often seen as a short term move to boost the stocks share price.

Nvidia has had 3 days of a falling share price & a -1.4% fall in share price over the month even after the release of quarterly figures. How the NASDAQ performs for the rest of the year could be strongly influence by Nvidia, given it's size & dominance of the NASDAQ.

AI has produced a lot of " Headlines " over the last few years. But given the an estimate $1 TRILLION investment for Revenue of $20 BILLION ( that is actual revenue from the implementation of AI tools within businesses ), AI will need to start producing a lot more Revenue than just Headlines.

Its the new Dot com bubble. Everything is fake.
I'm just stunned that they stuck with the " AI " Artificial Intelligence.

By definition:- imitation; simulated; sham. :- lacking naturalness or spontaneity; forced; contrived; feigned.

As soon as I see/hear "artificial " the 1'st thing that comes to my mind is "FAKE ". So fake intelligence. Just like a calculator is a really fast abacus, AI is a tricked up version of search engines :p ( AI searches the internet & complies the most probable answer ) Some AI's have hallucination rates of 40% ( hallucination:- lying/delusional )

Maybe 1 day in 10 - 15 years time AI will have real world use/impact that truly benefits Humans.

The current AI is a scam/shakedown for the MONEY !

I agree, it very similar to internet bubble - lots of hype, anything with 'AI' gets money thrown at it, and reality will check in, and it will fall down, BUT i do believe after that, AI will remain and will over time become larger and larger part of our lives, just like the internet bubble and crash didn't stop the internet.

It should be seen as what it is though, another tool in the long sequence of humans making tools, and will be used for good and bad.

I like ur analogy to AI being a " Tool ". I share that view. ( for good or bad is the human action )

I think the AI " tool " needs more Furnace time & a lot more Forging ;)

That's a great way of reframing it - I never thought of it like that. Personally I think AI is the biggest disruptor of our lifetime, but I'm still undecided as to whether in a good or harmful way.
