Macquarrie Mint

Bit tacky remembering Australian soldiers with a coin from Nauru, isn't it?

Nauru uses Australian dollars ... and the mint page design is very reminiscent of the Downies page design.

Wow looks pretty good. But is it real or a scam? Sorry but never heard of these guys I mean the mint. I want one coin looks great.

I started to wonder about the "legitimacy" of this Macquarrie Mint outfit....

Hard to find where they actually are.

I wonder if Downies actually sell Macquarrie Mint products?. Hadn't noticed it in their shop. Are they the same company? Are they too embarrassed to sell their own stuff?

After some research I can confirm with reasonable accuracy that Macquarie Mint is another division of Downies.

I think Macquarie Mint is a brand they use primarily for marketing overseas. I've come across it before.

From the 1899-1901 Boer War to Afghanistan and Iraq, over 100,000 Australian military personnel have died whilst serving with an Australian unit. A fine tribute to Australia's proud military heritage, this poignant legal tender $10 coin honours those that have made the ultimate sacrifice and pays homage to the courage, selflessness and spirit of every Aussie Digger.

Graced with a superb portrayal of an Army bugler instantly provoking thoughts of the haunting sounds of The Last Post. This official $10 Silver Commemorative coin is struck to Brilliant Uncirculated quality from 10g of 50% fine silver and strictly limited to 50,000.

The $10 "We Will Remember Them" Silver Commemorative coin was issued by the official Treasury Authority of Nauru and is the equivalent of A$10. This coin is fully refundable for A$10 from the Macquarie Mint until 31st October 2013. You will need to provide the Macquarie Mint with proof of purchase and redemption is limited to one coin per customers as per the initial offer. To exchange your Nauru $10 "We Will Remember Them" Silver commemorative coin for A$10 simply contact the Macquarie Mint on Tollfree 1300 798 368 to advise our friendly client service staff that you will be returning your coin for redemption and then send it to us on the below address.

It looks real good in the picture, but works out to be only about $6 worth of silver...
Definately looks interesting, but how did you work it out to be $6 of silver? I don't see weight or fineness anywhere.

Never head of the Macquarrie Mint.

Never head of the Macquarrie Mint.

I read on their website that it is a 10g coin of 50% silver purity...

I have purchased some coins from Macquarrie before... they are legit. The coins i bought from them before were minted by Perth Mint specially for Macquarrie

And in others news:

Resolved macquariemint.com to [210.50.193.119].

Resolved downies.com.au to [210.50.193.120].

there's more tho

Macquarie Mint has your info passed to them direct from their sister company Downies as they are the same company, only different names so that people don't link them (or the other companies) together.

Guerilla Marketing is the best description of what downies do once they have your info.
Be warned!

All are companies of Downies:

amusing to see in my searches:
"You might also be interested in the competitors: monetarium.com.au"

Aus-tech, may I please ask how you were able to extract a list of domain names from an IP address (assuming that is what you did to assemble the above list)? That's a neat ability, but one I wasn't aware was possible (easily)!
