Lunar Monkey 1/2 oz at ABC in Sydney

So I walk into Aus. Bullion Co down in Sydney and ask to see their random selection of stuff they buy off customers. They had two 1/2 oz Monkeys for $26 per coin. One was not in the capsule so I decided I'd probably let that one go, and the other had a capsule in good condition. As the lady was showing me I glanced away to put something in my bag and as I turned back to her she opened up the one in the capsule and dropped the coin into her bare hands to show me that one too.


*sigh* I guess, never mind.

I remember the first time i went to get some bars at ABC i asked the lady if they had any 10 "O" "Z" bars available.

She asked me what "O" "Z" meant...

When all they do all day is sell ounces i thought shed be down with all the various alias's the word OUNCE has.. but i mean comon seriously?

I thought that she was rather illogical after that visit, almost like they were trying to make silver customers feel like they were wasting the staffs time. That was my regular the first year i was buying.. i just shop online now as i dont need the bad service, also the (food)que adds to the feeling we are living in a parrallel wymar time.

ya i prefer one with good services coz we are the customers and we are paying. There are so many other options nowadays. ABC is kind of old fashion with limited variety and bad services and higher price.
The only thing which i went last time is because there was a hot chick

Would be great to put dirtyKFC fingers all over a nice shinny proof then say"hmmm,doesn't feel right" then walk out

Could do that every lunch hour and never get bord :lol:

Well, I've tried to keep it respectful and informative. If it is not in your best interest to have this thread up, I won't be offended if you delete it.
Also, one of the comments made by the staff included, "yeah a little silver polish will clean it right up" or something to that effect. :rolleyes:
 
I once bought a second hand banged up maple for $54 dollars at ABC in Melbourne :lol:
 
It's amazing how many customers try to prise open capsules when looking at coins at our office.

Note to anyone reading - if a coin is encapsulated, leave it in the bloody capsule unless you own it and don't mind destroying the resale value ;)
 
Aren't people getting a little precious about bullion coins ?

I've got a few old silver maples that are still sealed in their plastic shipping sleeves, so obviously never been touched by human hands.
Didn't cost me any more than a regular, touched, possibly scratched, maple would cost.

Next you'll be wanting them double bagged like the pandas or something.

Not really. If you want to fondle something, play with the coins in your pocket or buy a bar instead.

The fact that something comes in a protective capsule is a pretty good clue that it's fragile.

kooks come in individual capsules but ASEs and maples don't - are kooks more fragile than ASEs and maples ?

If you have any kooks or S1 or S2 lunars will happily do a swap 1 for 1 with maples/phils/ASEs since they are all the same... A ding on a maple may cost you $1.50 in value and ding on a S1 dragon may cost you $60 in value...

I tend to agree. Unless its a proof or she'd scratched it or something I don't see the big deal. I've got a kook I used to get out from time to time, doesn't seem to have harmed it.

Don't have a problem with people playing with their coins or even selling me played with coins @ spot. But just don't try sell me a circulated bullion coin for the same price as a uncirculated one, play away... it's you money your wasting after all.

lol, I'll keep that in mind.

This is a condition used to describe money, either coin or paper, or stamps and the like. If a coin or paper money has been circulated, that means someone found it in their change. If it says uncirculated, it is crisp and brand new, and has only one set of fingerprints on it - either yours or the person who owned it before you.

The post office did something similar... they broke out a PROOF COIN and manhandled it.

Luckily it was a RAM dragon which I didn't want to buy anyway or I would've been annoyed.
