do the whole chain...you won't. I'm working on building an igloo out of 1 gram bars in air tights. I think i need another 20 grams to complete before winter
 
What tools did you use to do this? Do you work with gold/silver? Must have taken some guts otherwise.

Nice. I wasn't even aware of Valcambi until reading this.
 
Worked out that I need a whole combibar to fill the chain!

I've never worked with gold or silver before, I'm just a dirty heavy truck mechanic lol.
No guts just a sense of wrecklessness :)
Fancy myself as quite the jeweler :)
I used a set of jewelers screwdrivers and a piece of wood and my bare hands to bend and roll the piece into a perfect ring, then I flattened it a bit, opened the join and closed it over the chain. It doesn't slide off the end, has to be prized open to be removed.
