Local trade groups/clubs

Hello everyone. I just started stacking silver 2 months ago.

I am curious to know if some of you guys are members of local trade groups or clubs?

I don't know if those even exist but it seems like a good idea to me. The idea of being able to buy/sell or trade at spot price sounds good to me.

Ya... I really don't know about doing that...

Here are the reasons I don't like it:
- Shipping metal is expensive. So any savings made on not paying a premium will lost and it will actually be more expensive in most cases
- Sending valuable bullions and bars to strangers with no garantee they will ship back what we agreed upon is a sure way to loose a lot of money

Maybe some people do it and it works for them, but I am really uncomfortable about doing this.
 
Have you looked at "The Silver Forum"?

They appear to have a reasonably active group of Canadian / US stackers who buy and sell on that forum. Worth a look see given your comments re o/s shipping.

As for buying in the secondary market ie pay and wait for items to arrive, that's the way it works unless you do a face to face trade. The above forum does have a trader feedback / rating system the same as this forum so that's the guide to who are the trusted sellers and buyers.

My guess is that people who do trades over the mail are mostly into numismatic coins? It would make sense for that. I am into bars and bullions for base metal price so I guess for me, it would not really make any sense.

I was interested in doing it to get my hands on bullions and rounds not available in Canada. But all the associated costs would probably make them to expensive to be worth the effort.
