How it works is you put your name down on the waiting list for a much hyped-up rare edition, wait for delivery, load it onto a truck (to keep the mileage down) and resell it immediately to someone who was too late to get their name on the priority list, or who simply didn't have the connections. ... But the real question is why should Porsche feel inclined to leave money on the table? If demand is outstripping supply market logic dictates: raise the price. Porsche says "it is not our policy to profiteer when there is an excess demand or limited supply."
