Kooks do eat fish and they do drink water

I am very lucky to have lots of kooks on my property, but
I also like having gold fish in a very large pond with a bridge
going over it, I can tell you for sure that kooks sit on the bridge
railing or on the fountain head and pick off stupid gold fish
all the time, I am forever shooing them away.


They also seem to drink from a bird bath that I have in the
middle of yard, it is mainly in the middle of summer that
this occurs though

I lost so many fish that I ended up putting bird netting over
the pond, but then the herons would use the bird netting to stand
on and stab the fish from, and when a cormorant got underneath
the netting and got tangled in it I just gave up.

I would rather feed the kooks than the herons so got
rid of the netting

As I said, nice work with the vid, but not quite correct though

bigsky, sorry to hear about your goldfish. My information about the Kook was not based on personal experience as yours is! I wish I could own a home Down Under. I obtained my info from literary sources. The Kook is obviously a highly intelligent bird who can adapt to just about any environment. Even urban ones so I have read, so I am not surprised at all that they will take an easy mark like a goldfish is a shallow pond. Thanks for sharing your experience about the Kook and thanks for your kind words regarding my video.

in total

To the Australian stackers. Does someone have the 2 coin set 2017 (proof & BU) in hands already? Just want to check the COA if it is true that maximum mintage of the proof version is only 1,000 pieces. Thanks.
 
It's confirmed now. Spotted on someone's COA. Kookaburra 1oz 2017 silver proof has the lowest proof mintage of 1,000 pieces only.
