Kitko is suing John Adams

A few things:

1. Kiyosaki said in 1976 Aussies were highly in debt. 45 years later Adams says Aussies are highly in debt. It's a dull premise with the accompanying predicted consequences just not playing out, as Adams basically said with regards to Harry Dent. The government has an infinite capacity to support asset bubbles, which Adams would probably agree.

2. Gold confiscation is not going to happen because Federal governments don't need gold. Adams would disagree.

3. Synthetic silver, yawn. If you want physical buy physical. If you want to play futures contracts without wanting to take delivery then so what? Play paper silver.

4. Crypto - just because you don't understand coding doesn't mean you shouldn't buy crypto. How many PM investors are metallurgists? How many property investors are civil engineers? And then he drifts into conspiracy theories regarding SHA-256. o_O

As he says he's an economist who doesn't understand the technology. Doesn't stop him speculating that the technology is actually a front for the NSA though.

So I stopped listening at the 30:25 min mark.

Does any one know if Kitco has actually filed a lawsuit?

I suspect Kitco will find it hard to pull JA into court in Aust for a couple of reasons.

1) There is no international treaty between Canada as a country as a whole and Australia whereby a ruling in Canada can be enforced in an Australian court. There is a treaty between the province of British Columbia and Australia, but not one with Quebec where Kitco is based, but I guess Kitco could always try to go through the BC courts and have same enforced by NSW Supreme Court.

2) Under Australian law, I understand that a company / corporate entity with more than 10 employees cannot sue a individual for defamation. As it appears that Kitco are claiming JA's comments are incorrect and have caused damage to Kitco (ie the cease and desist which infers some kind of defamation has taken place), one can conclude they are angling at defamation but as per above they could be on a road to nowhere on that one given Australian laws. Kitco's Aust lawyers would know this and IMO opinion are just trying to scare JA into submission with a few letters from a legal firm.

If it did somehow go to court and I suspect JA / interested parties wouldn't mind that cos it opens up the wonderful world of "discovery" of information. Not sure Kitco would have too much to discover re JA aside from his tweets and some emails, but the right lawyer acting for JA could demand a whole treasure trove of information from Kitco.....and that could be interesting and also take years & years...which I suspect would happen as Kitco would want to bleed JA dry with legal costs.

so he doesnt need the money he asked for then?
the reason I asked is he has gone quiet since asking for the money, and people are giving him the money still, and if he hasnt been issued with any legal action, then why has he asked for money? seems very scammy tome if there is no legal action that has been taken.

Agree. This is a second potential reason - which I only skipped over - in order to give him the benefit of the doubt. If you check out his gofundme you can see that he has raised his goal from 20K to 40K - and the original explanation has not been updated - so what is that all about?

It is coming back to me now - that in the old, deleted thread, there was some fairly strong language about who may or may not have contributed to his fund. Obviously you and I have not contributed, seeing as we are sufficiently street-wise to see through him. The quality of his judgment seems quite low, but he is definitely pugilistic - albeit an ignorant one - but hell, its great being in the limelight :D
