Kilo Pandas?

I'm awfully tempted to buy a 2014 China Panda Kilo coin, but can't get myself to pull the trigger because of the mirror finish on the obverse, and it being susceptable to white spots. Anyone have a Panda kilo? How is it holding up? As I've been saying, the main reason I've been buying the kilo PM horses is I'm not in the least bit concerned about white spots. Of course I'll do everything in my power to protect, but if it should happen, 1.79 over spot per ounce is no big deal if some day I have to sell it down the road. Maybe I lose some of the premium, that's okay. But on a Kilo Panda, the premium is gone with formation of white spots.

Advice? Thanks.

Here is an ebay listing, if you scroll down and look at the obverve, sure does look like it has white spots. Not interested in the year, but it illustrates my point.

even this guy sneakily turns the obverse to the side, and thems look like spots to me, yes? No thanks.

Looked into getting one myself and the kilo Maple but the possibility of both developing spotting has totally ruled them out. Given the huge premium, I wouldn't say it's worth the risk. Unless you're looking for a quick flip, $3k is too much.

I thought white spots were a result of the washing process, which means you should see it on all size pandas (unless the 1kg are manufactured completely differently).

Yeah, the ones I'm looking at are a bit less expensive..a lot less, and with a mintage of 20k seems like a good buy/flip, but, I know me, I'll keep them too long, and then when I go to sell, bam, there they are. The dreaded white spots! I'm surprised they haven't gone with more of a frosted look since they have been experiencing a lot of issues with spotting over the last few years.

I was looking on the NGC website. Alot of kilo panda coins getting MS70 grades
not sure if thats a good thing if theres too many though..

I haven't looked, but that has to be a good sign. I'm not buying for the grade, but if means no spots, I'm happy. LOL. Some of those Kilo Pandas are extremely expensive. I'd love to collect the set, but man, that would be a lot of money.

These are proofs I'm referring to, and not bullion Pandas.

Done. I'm buying 7 tonight before market open. Thanks for sharing. I'll have a stack of 10 of these beauties, and will protect them the way I do everything when I put them in storeage...and then keep my fingers crossed. :-) Have you seen some of the prices or prior years? wow. Granted, many have small mintages, 2,000; 4,000.00, but still, they command huge premiums. Thanks for sharing the beauty.
