Kilo cases.

I'm looking a t buying a kilo coin and the case is all messed up and the kilo looks to be fine. What kind of value does this take off the coin? I can buy the same thing for 560 in perfect shape. Thanks!
 
Any kilo coin in particular? Could be as much as $50+ depending on what coin it is. It would put off a lot of buyers too. Replacement capsules can be bought for ~$10.
 
Just a kilo rabbit but I'm hoping the broken case scares people off. 10 bucks isn't bad if I can save 40 or 50. I feel like it won't go cheap, I don't think a lot people know you can get them from realtively cheap right now.
 
Personally I'd go for the unbroken one if its for the personal stack (increased chance of oxidation) but if it's to flip, go broken and replace the cap. APMEX would be your best bet. USD$560 is a pretty good price. I sold one for $1,200 not so long ago. Not as popular in the U.S. so might be worth eBaying it internationally.
 
Yea I didn't really think of the oxidization factor. But I figure if I can get it for around 500(wishful thinking) it's worth the gamble. I already have a nice one for my stack.
 
I have some other Perth stuff with a small chip where the two sides meet. Would it be worth it to replace them? All are newer smaller sizes.
 
Hmm, not worth the trouble IMO. As mentioned, the crappy case would mean milkspotting/toning/etc for the coin which probably makes it hard to sell other than at spot in future.

I would suggest going for a kilo coin in a good capsule.
