Seeing how popular back to the futur was

Will the Star Wars be popular when then movie comes out

Maybe buying now and trying to flip when the movie comes out

The reason Back to the Future coins are hot at the moment is due to packaging

I don't think the packaging is the major reason

Maybe the mint will bring some Star Wars coin in star wars packaging

don't think the new star wars coins will be that popular; they're all a bunch of unknown characters at this point and nothing great about the coins or packaging.

even the NZ mint ones released a few years ago that came with the really amazing packaging and featured the iconic characters don't fetch much of a premium/no premium

back 2 the future coins had alot of great features, timed well, mintage 2015 for the hooverboard and great hype around the day. Released on back to the future day, 2 iconic toys replicated and appeals to alot of peoples childhood.
Star wars on the other hand has good hype around it however the coins dont have the same uniqueness. If star wars coins were millennium falcom, lightsabers, dath vader hats or star wars x-wings it would have definately sold out

Star Wars - Is a franchise and will have more important anniversaries and is being exposed to new generations. However, I think the current Star Wars hype is a symptom of a temporary peak and I would wait for another ebb before buying in.

BTTF - Kudos to the guys for the packing and marketing/timing, but IMHO it is similar to a one-off event and its popularity will be limited to important event anniversaries. AKA Woodstock.

In 2019 (50th anniversary), I plan to unload my Woodstock tickets and posters.
