'Thongs and flanno essential': Job ad seeks Perth's next top professional bogan
It's not often claiming to be a bogan on your resume is going to give you the leg-up for a job interview in Perth ... until now.
A job advertisement, calling for "applicants who possess the qualities to be a professional bogan" was posted on Seek.com.au on Monday, under the arts, media and performing arts section.
"The applicant must have at least five years prior bogan experience or equivalent demonstrated," the Professional Bogan job ad read.
The ad was posted by promoters The Gelo Company for Bogan Bingo nights at Rosie O'Grady's starting later this month.
Under the position profile it says the person applying for the role has to be fully sick, able to count to 90, know the logistics of air guitar maintenance and understand the risks of running in thongs.
Some of the essential requirements for the gig include: providing their own flanno and an unbridled love of Ozzie culture.
The ad also says it's desirable to have a love of Emu Export, INXS tattoos, own a Holden or Ford and know the lyrics to AC/DC's Thunderstruck.
Some of the benefits of landing the job of Bogan Bingo caller include: becoming more fully sick and being a shining beacon of bogan glory.
The audition will take place on April 28 at Rosie O'Gradys 205 James St, Northbridge WA 6003 at 6pm.
