Other than the extraction from the ground itself, what jobs are there in the PM industry? Is there courses or industry bodies? How does one get knowledge/experience?

I have probably spent more on albums, pages, capsules, storage, books and 2x2s than I have ever spent on coins. And once they are full, I go and buy more of them. Unless you are flipping you only really need one example of a coin. But you always need the supplies that go with them.

As for the rest of the precious metals industry, the dealers make money whether the prices go up or down but none of them seem to be that rich.

Look on SEEK. I've noticed a number of positions vacant advertised on there at times.
