Jewellery Store Bullion

Hi everyone, this is my first post and new to silver stacking, this may seem like a noob question so go easy on me. :P

Cut a long story short, there is a jewellery store/bullion dealer in my town and they have a 500g silver bar with their logo on it and purity (.999), I assume they made it themselves. It's not going to be a recognisable brand name (unless another local dealer knows of it I suppose).

The price on this is very enticing as it is by far the closest to spot I could find, even online. I would like your opinion of this, as an investment in raw silver, could this be trusted? Would another dealer offer less and/or would they see this as scrap?

If you're new to investing in silver, then you'd better go for the big recognized brands and purchase something that's highly likely to be genuine.

Purity is an issue: a small producers would have difficulties in creating the purest bars (even if they wanted to). What do they make the bar from? Some just melt all sorts of silver coins and other objects - which are far from .999 purity.

I'd stay away from small producers, also because their bars would be a lot harder to sell later.

Go for the bigger brands, buy from a dealer. Or, just buy tubes of coins.

Focus on purity at least .999
