It is easier to spot the defect on clubman's photo that has the blue circle overlay. The wolf's tail should be thin and close to the rim of the coin; the rim has bent outwards a little on clubman's wolf.

Photo below is taken from an eBay seller, as a reference.

I wish I have mine to compare... still waiting for it to be shipped :rolleyes:

clubman from your photos it looks like the mint might have positioned the blank slightly to the top when it was struck. The eBay photo shows even thickness throughout the rim but on your photo it seems that the rim near the wolf is very thin, and the rim is much thicker at the top.

Or it could simply be parallax error from the angle you took the photos.

Comparing to the official photo, the top rim is thicker than the bottom.

Yeah they do small gold versions on the Mongolian Wildlife, and now Nature coins...but they have no innovation and pale in comparison to their silver counterparts IMO :)

Is the almost 12:00AM here, so I had to take photos in bathroom. Unfortunately I don't have any coin holder so I had to hold coin with left hand and tried to take picture with brick (phone). Maybe I will try again when will be dark. Pictures are cropped.

I finally got my Mongolian Nature Wolf... took over 2 weeks for it to be delivered from my dealer. :)

clubman have you sorted out with your dealer? Mine looks perfect, will try to post some photos tonight. :cool:
 
Got my Argali and Crying wolf. Loving the wolf!

Best part: Arrived Tax free even though the wolf is taxable here in Canada as it is 0.925 Silver not the 99.9% or greater pure silver that is tax free.

Dealer has no more coins left, CIT has no more coins left, too...
Dealer was good, they managed to give me some discount for the next purchase.
