Investing in Precious Metals in Australia

Anteckna 1 oz silver i min kopp!

PS Det r lite kul!

Good day and welcome!

The issue of logistics is very important to many buyers here in Australia.

The biggest player in the mail network in Australia is "Australia Post". AP has a monopoly and treat most of their customers with comtempt complete control of the
Australian domestic mail industry and a very high proportion of small to medium-sized package industry.

Under Australia Post guidelines, it is forbidden to send bullion! Notice the word forbidden!

Perth Mint and some other refiners use a company that is a partnership between Australia Post and Qantas. This company is known as the Australian Air Express. AAE
has several large contracts in Australia, including supply for the Perth Mint. I do not know about AAE insures precious metals, but it seems that they do not have
any restrictions on carrying it! It is possible that AAE does not insure the precious metals and to send the company may have a separate insurance policy that
Lloyds of London, etc. (others here know more about this subject.)

AAE transports cargo throughout Australia but has recently sold its local delivery arm (ie delivery from the airports to the end customer) to another major logistics
company Start Track Express! So AAE moves cargo throughout Australia, but end deliveries are handled by the Star Track Express disguised AAE (or vice versa).

STE used to have the Perth Mint contract but lost it due to "whatever" reason and when they purchased AAE, they again got the PM business. I have been told that the
PM was not happy with that arrangement. (My personal experience with AAE and Star Tack Express is that the systems that run behind the scenes is quite brilliant, but
they hire idiot drivers who care nothing for the brand as they work for, and just like AP treat customers with contempt!

ANNUAL REPORTS are freely available from the listed / unlisted companies (eg AAAAA Limited) while private comapanies (AAAAA Pty Ltd) is not required to distribute their
annual reports. But if the annual reports for all companies, public or private can be obtained from the Australian Securities and Investment Commission
http://www.asic.gov.au/ for a fee.

If anyone in this forum has good knowledge about the precious metals market in Australia and/or have a small dealership that you would like to expand and/or would be interested in partnership/employment- Contact me at tp@libertysilver.se

I'm interested in employment. What roles do you need filling?

I,d gladly pay two silver coins to see the unedited version of the original O P.

To follow up on this thread, I postponed the establishment in Australia temporarily after finding out about the GST exemption of precious metals in Singapore and instead set up Singaporean www.BullionStar.com which offers bullion in Singapore for delivery and storage. Based on the low crime rate and stable property rights, Singapore may be one of the best jurisdictions to store precious metals.

Has there been any new noticeable PM companies establishing in Australia during the last year? With BullionStar in place, I'm again considering whether to go ahead with similar ideas in Australia.

Oh wow. The man himself!

Nice website and thanks for setting up shop in Singapore. Really appreciate the competition you're giving the other bullion dealers here. :)
