if there wasnt such thing as stacking

if stacking didn't exist(and im guessing its relatively new) who are all the coins/bars/meant for when the mint makes them?
or I maybe should have asked , has the bullioin items increased since stacking became more popular ,
suppose a good example would be a monster box, or a 10 oz coin who would have purchased those items if stacking wasn't here sorry could I add

They're for anybody who can afford to buy them.
It started the moment that the first piece of precious metal had been identified.
 
July 13, 1977 a close friend advised me to buy gold.
He also said if I saw any pre 1965 silver coins in my change I should stash them away.
I did for a while, lost interest, until recently.
You must have lead a sheltered life.

Every now and then people find clay pots full of coins that Roman Soldiers buried before battle. I'm assuming battles they didn't personally fare well in :o
