if silver went to $10000 /oz i'd:

1. eat my hat

2. calculate the 1000oz i'd once owned would now be worth $10m but decide i was doing just fine regardless

3. wake up and recall silverbugs crying conspiracy when the price had collapsed from a two or three digit peak

4. wonder why my guts hurt and look for my hat
 
If silver hits $10000 /oz than milk will be $300 per bottle, 1kg of meat will be $1500, and all the other prices will be a lot higher than they are now.

You make it sound as if silver would become what rhodium was just prior to the GFC.

..Well congrats on the size of your current stack!! Mine isn't that big to generate at least $15,000 000 in fiat.

If silver hits 10k, gold is going to be ginormous....whats a fair ratio, 10 or 15: 1? sheesh. I doubt silver will hit that sort of price without the proverbial hitting the fan-- by 10k, there is going to be severe hyperinflation. I'd be super SUPER stoked if we just got to $500 an oz. Never in my wildest dreams did I even think I'd make a sensible investment that doubled it's value in 12 months. We're all led to believe that bank accounts and property are the ways to increase your money. We know banks suck..but housing is fair...but I'v never seen a house double it's value in 12 months.


I'd buy commercial investment properties in growth areas and live on the earnings... I'd convert as much silver to gold and use the gold to buy a new car each year :)

If it got to that stage hopefully I would have the ability to ensure all those gains stayed GAINED and didn't drop off due to an overvaluation of the metal and me not knowing where to put it. I'd have to reassess the financial system at that point to see if there are any currencies still stable so once the overvaluation drops I can re-buy all my metal again (sell all/most for houses/land/commercial property then re-buy all my metal and then some when the price drops off).

I love the idea of buying a Veyron. I'v always liked those cars.. but I was just thinking today..I'm such a tight ass, If I can't do some of the servicing myself, id feel like i was wasting my money! I'd buy a new corolla and get it all re-upholstered in leather and woodgrain for my daily buzz around vehicle and have a 1979 Porsche 911 in mexico blue for my weekender...mmm.

Even after that bit of spending, there would be so much left over, my kids would have more than enough to keep them out of financial problems for their lives. I would just like them to spend the time on educating themselves on sustainable living and the importance of relationships and community working together over anything that money can buy. I think they would have to prove to me that they understood those first before I gave it to them :)

If I had a HUNDRED million.. then I'd buy the Veyron ;) .. no less.

I wouldn't even care if I get tv reception (don't watch tv - ever) bitumen roads (live off a dirt road anyway) or FM radio (if I do listen to radio it's radio national or ABC or occasionally BBC world service). As long as there is satellite internet around - where the real information can be found for the discerning - then I'd be loving it.
