I haven't been around for a long time

Hello,

I've just been looking at selling and shops seem to be buying for less than they used to when I last raised my head many years ago. Is this now general in the industry or are some places better than others?

You were a square? You are but a wee toddler?

MR Roberts offered me spot for a 1 oz gold coin with supposed numismatic value, at least that would be included in the price had I been the one purchasing.

Unfortunately the days when an offer around the “spot” price was considered offensive have long gone! On the other hand the intrinsic metal price for both silver and gold has increased considerably.

hello everyone :)

is there any premium at all these days? or people just buy and sell at spot only now pretty whatever it is

was thinking about off loading a few bits and pieces... where are all the people FOMO'ing into silver now its spiking??? ;)

Believe there is still a premium on choice or unusual pieces. Recently forum member “Acorn” has been offering discounts to spot on numerous pre decimal Aussie coins.

Welcome back! I guess that numismatic premiums become less important as metals spot prices rise. In 2010 you could buy a generic ounce of silver for $18.00-$20.00 but a 1 oz series 2 Lunar tiger at that time cost $25.00 which was a 25% premium. Not so now.
