I decided to swap!

the deed is done, I decided to swap some silver for some gold this morning (first time swapping). I ended up doing this when gold was up around $9, so I was happy that gold was up more than $20 when I got home :D

Have any of you guys been swapping lately, or are you guys waiting on the GSR to decrease some more?

the yellow stuff is very nice indeed, I really like the gold maples. I will probably swap again around the low 20's

When u say u swap, do you sell and buy? Or meet fellow traders?
Wondering if you have the cgt and other costs to consider when deciding upon a ratio

I think currently whilst the GSR hovers around 32.15 it makes a very simple trade 1kg silver for 1oz gold..

Trading bullion for bullion is a cost eefective way to avoid premiums when paying fiata

I met up with 1 stacker & swapped 18 x $10 silver coins for 1 $200 gold coin, also sent another lot to another member interstate for the same thing

I traded a while ago when the gsr was less favourable to me. I don't regret the decision at all.

Oh I sold and bought, it was kind of a spur of the moment kinda thing :D

Swaps will benefit the Gold owners more than the silver guys swapping out in %terms - but gold is more stable id say

Yeah I just felt like gold would start moving again and would like to have some more stability in my stack. So far I am pretty pleased with the yellow stuff

I recently bought 3 fractional gold coins ( 0.34 oz agw ) and sold some silver to partially fund the gold purchases.

These by the way will go to Europe and will be left there ( Gold Vs Euro is doing as expected ) - thus the gold purchases.

Great mate =) For me it feels good to have some of both metals. My 1st. and only swap (gold for silver) was back in August last year when silver was $18.95. If i swap back again my silver for gold, i can make a handy 3.5-4 oz Au profit, but will not swap my silver ... to much stress to get it in the 1st. place ... these shipping from Aus to ZAR

..dunno gold just seems too expensive. Silver really is the 'cheap alternative'. The next gold I get will be when I am converting some 'eavy silver into lighter gold when silver reaches the stars. I like those rustic little bars too. A handful of those 1 ounce bars feel good.

I once owned three ounces of the PM poured bars.. sadly they were sold for the payment of outstanding debt. Much better to pay the debt and have no gold than have the gold and be sweating over the debt..that is for sure.

I find I seem to be repeating myself a lot on here :/ .... I hope you all enjoy the skips of a broken record.

I dont think it has much to do with silver being the cheap alternative - it is due to its rise - gold in AUD has not moved much in a long time.
Gold holders have been 'scammed' by silver holders by a half since about September last year !!!

:)

its strange !
