How trustworthy is Yahoo Finance?

Yahoo finance have data points that are calculated on your behalf to represent

Retern on Equity
Trailing and forward P/E
Margin

etc

How reliable is the yahoo data?

Anyone checked them up?

I wouldn't rely on any one site for those sorts of figures.

I've quite often found errors in the commsec data - perhaps not so much on the big caps but definitely with smaller companies.

You should confirm numbers with 2 or 3 sources

I agree with trew yahoo finance can be dodgy for example it says the market cap of SLR is 198million while google finance says it is 328million.

I only use Yahoo finance for looking at stock prices on my phones notification centre when I can't be bothered logging into etrade.
