Hi without an xrf what ways can one reduce the risk in buying $200 Australian Gold coins when you haven't dealt with the seller before. This is someone who isn't on stackers and don't have access to an xrf.
Cheers

It's a bit tricky measuring density for anything that's not 999, so if they haven't got the receipt I wouldn't bother.

By measuring it, Diameter, Thickness, Weight with Caliper & Scale.

Technical Specifications

Gold Content (Troy oz) 0.2947
Monetary Denomination (AUD) 200.00
Fineness (% purity) 91.67
Diameter (mm) 24
Thickness (mm) 1.8

If by measuring it too hard, don't bother buying them.

There's some real 1s up now...just in case you want to closely examine them 1st hand, express included ;)

If you can’t use an XRF, I’d suggest a few things. First, ask for clear, detailed photos of the coin and check for any signs of wear or inconsistencies. I’d also look up reviews or feedback from previous buyers to see if others have had good experiences with them. If they can provide a certificate of authenticity, that’s a big plus. I usually double-check the coin’s weight and size against official specs too. And, make sure they offer a refund or secure payment options just in case.
