How much money will it take to make you happy?

As a sign of our speculative society, I heard on the ABC radio a survey done asking just this question.

The average answer was $1 Million.

When asked why (because by today's standards it isn't a MASSIVE amount) many respondents replied, "because I could use it to invest and make even more money."

If you dont desire anything your a bit strange i think . if you didnt desire your partner you would still be single for a start. I think buddha is wrong .....soooooo wrong I desire some chicken right now im out of here

My source of happiness is having a roof over my head and three feeds a day, and having a family that I love and they love me. Silver is my money to help them to have a roof over their heads and as a bank to make sure that they have three meals a day.

Yep thats a much better way to put it . I happen to have mastered my desires with the priority system no matter how much i desire it 1st priority comes first I think thats where a lot of people fall over it comes down to the old wants & needs arguement

When I was 20 I wanted $300 more than I had, at 35 it had gone up to $3000 more than I had. Now it's around $30,000. Doesn't matter though since Buddha is right and I'm happy enough.

I think it's not the money which makes you happy, well it could, you could feel happier/secure just knowing you hold it, but, it is what the money can buy you, for one, a sense of freedom.

To me, money speeds up your evolutionary path...you can go, learn, grow, travel, fly and be free, many things you cannot do if your poor.

But money can't buy you love, health, a good family or sincere friendships, nor can it buy you a beautiful mind.
