How is silver used in car batteries?

I better ring up the TV station and tell them to pull the ad where they said they're using silver in car batteries.

I saw an ad on TV for car batteries with silver technology.
I didn't know silver was used in batteries.
So I thought I'd see if you guys had the oil on the topic.

Ive got no idea if this is common, just did a quick google and this was on first page.
Swoydaz.. You should know not to believe everything you see on tv.. Just what you read on internet forums :p
 
The better question is how many oz of Ag can you buy from selling car batteries as scrap? I would estimate about 5-6 car batteries = 1 oz Ag.

Don't try and process a lead acid battery yourself. Your well-being is worth much more.

Just because you put your head in the oven, doesn't make you a cake.

Just because you put a battery in a car, does not make it a car battery.

I'm guessing they are talking about rechargeable batteries, used in cars.
Maybe not.
