How do you organize, store, manage, etc your stack?

My stack is still tiny but... I start to worry about organizing and storing it. It is easy with the gemstones - they are small, easy to organize and cheap to store in a bank safe deposit box. But... it seems different with coins! - They are big - require a lot of space, different size of the coin or capsule - it is hard to organize them (especially when a new stacker buys one coin from all available like me :lol: ). I've tried different containers and seems the most useful one is ... a toolbox! :o

So... the question is obvious - do you use any special containers to store them or just ordinary boxes and how you generally manage your stack?

Keep them in original tray.

If they are loose keep them in the Tubes.

I would suggest a good spreadsheet and some nice tubes. I've only recently begun putting my coins in original mint tubes because I only buy a few ounces at a time. I'm just now to the point a tube makes sense. It has really helped clean up the box though. I also try to only stack five different coin types. This makes tubes make more sense and also makes tracking easier. On my tracking spreadsheet I have cointype, price paid (I include shipping into that) and the date. I could probably add spot at the time but I figure I can look up histrical numbers if I need to. This helps me stay focused on the stack and goals and it has been huge with helping me lower my dollar cost average. Even though I mainly stack just five types of coins (ASE, Maples, Libertads, Philharmonics and Britannias) I have picked up maybe 10 oz of other stuff like fractional Libertads and Noah's Arks, some Scottsdale rounds and Isle of Man Angels. They do make my box a bit messy so I am really trying to keep the impulse buys down. When I'm finished my 1st 110 oz of silver coins (one tube of each) I was thinking of 10 oz bars for the next 100 oz. I might change that up though and try for 5 oz coins like the ATBs and Libertads. We'll see what spot is looking like when I'm done this current goal :)
 
:D If I had that many bars, I think I will not have much problems storing them. The problems are the small coins, ratling in a plastic box :lol:

And I know the best and the safest place for the chocolate with or without nuts and fruits

I havn't found a good way to store yet. I thought it was a good idea early on to get one of everything to see what I like. Bars,rounds and coins of all sizes. I trying keep things grouped but they just end up in a box.

It's a problem I wish I had!

3oz of silver isn't much to organise... when I get to 10 ounces I might try stacking according to when I made each purchase and make a small tower. At the moment it looks more like a tree stump.
